Upgrade of PA systems for Statoil on the Oseberg Field Centre.
ComPower have now, in collaboration with Aibel and ABB, completed the delivery and commissioning of two 48V DC UPS backup systems to the Oseberg Field Centre. The systems encompass battery banks, battery breakers, distribution cabinets, rectifiers and control and monitoring systems.
Also part of the delivery was our portable battery discharge test unit for testing and maintenance of the battery banks.
Kato Paulsen, the project manager from ABB, is very pleased with the realization of the project. "It is important that vital functions are secured with emergency power back-up systems that maintain critical operations in case of unforeseen events. We have positive experiences working with ComPower in this area".
After the initial survey in September 2009, a contract was designed and agreed upon. The project then progressed as planned with few deviations and was delivered according to schedule.
Key personnel from maintenance and electro have also been trained in HSE, system design, functionality and operation of the systems. The training includes a hands on part with practical operation of the systems. The training was for this project completed at our production site before the systems were delivered.
